First primroses

Elder Son had the dentist yesterday, so we took the car and parked in the car park near the dentist and I walked the dog in the park in the centre of town.
It's a lovely lovely park with a tudor mansion that anyone can go and look in and admire the 18th century clothes or the victorian toys or the old kitchen. Well, not now, obviously. But, y'know, when things can be open. And there's no charge for it.

I've not got any primroses in the garden, so was very excited to see these and made the dog stop so I could take a photo.  It's really well managed, I think, from a horticultural point of view, with the older formal planting with seasonal surprises like the primroses, and masses of crocuses under trees, and daffodils under other trees.

The daffodils weren't out yet though it won't be long, and all the dead flowers and the leaves must just get mown away when finished, so if you don't see them at the right time, you don't see them at all.

I went for my weekly lateral flow test today and went to the supermarket on the way home to drop in a prescription repeat request.  Preventer inhaler is taken twice a day, reliever inhaler is taken as needed (but especially in cold weather) and anti anxiety tablets... Are taken because I was just feeling that I couldn't cope. Which is frustrating, because until Covid 19, I'd been doing very nicely thank you and had been excessive anxiety & therefore medication free for 18 months. Well, anyway, if I need them, I need them. Mental health is as important as physical health. Then I took advantage of being out! In a shop! to browse and buy bananas, a mother's day card, vegan bacon & vegan cheese for Macaroni Cheese Monday. And a magazine just jumped into the basket with patterns! So I'll have to make these shorts. And trousers, but I'm a perfectly reasonable 5ft2in so making shorts to check I've got the waist right before making leg length corrections seems like a good idea. I left the magazine downstairs, but as the 2nd pattern says' exclusive to Love Sewing', I'll guess that's what it is.

I've been working on my Lykke jumper
This is the 2nd Lykke I've made, there are errors in the first (by me, I don't think they're anything to do with the pattern! And certainly realising in the last decrease round, after I'd done all the colourwork, that I'd got the left & right leaning decreases the wrong way round is all me.

It's cosy enough though and that's exactly what we've needed recently as we had snow in East Anglia. Nothing to what the poor people of Texas have had, of course, and equally of course, we do insulate our houses against cold weather.

Three different days of snow.

And why putting more photos in messes up my formatting, I don't know.

Neat cable socks by Christina are my February socks. I want to make a pair each month.  This is my thinking about Me Made May, that I need basics, and there's not much more basic than socks. So my creative aim is to make things I'll wear any day.

There's 1 more creative thing I'm working on, but it's a surprise present.

Hope you are coping with continued restrictions! Here in the Northern Hemisphere, the days are gradually lengthening, Spring is on the way. Which is good.
