A little light gardening (on Saturday, but I lost the post into drafts...)

Dog and I walked along the river this morning, up through the woods and back part the meadow.
More of the meadow is to be planted with wildflowers, I think. I will find out next year, I guess!

I was grumpy mummy this morning... After the exertion of music performance on Thursday, Younger Son was far too exhausted to go to college on Friday. Now, I'm sounding as though I'm being sarcastic there, but actually, I do get that he was exhausted - his autism makes things more anxiety-creating than it might be for someone without autism. And he gets so anxious about performances beforehand, there is so much that could go wrong! So he was exhausted. Of course, if he actually kept a good sleep routine, he might be less drained... Anyway, he didn't go to college, and as I'd gone to work before he was up, didn't know this till I got home just after 3pm. Of course, he hadn't actually contacted college to let them know he wasn't going to be in & why, so then I got an email from college to say he'd had an unauthorised absence. And, as he'd stayed in bed till lunchtime, he then stayed up on the computer till I got up this morning.

I'd have liked to take the dog to the park with designated dog exercise areas so he could run off the lead and play catch with his ball. But there's road works along the road towards it, so we went to the woods instead, which is actually a nicer walk for me as well as a shorter drive.

I should have been running with my mum, but I've had a cold this week, and did not want to take the germs there. I could have done with going running, I hadn't actually managed to get out with the club this year before lockdown, and of course there's been no running with the club over lockdown. I say 'run', but if that makes you feel intimidated, please don't! I jeff, which is using intervals of running and walking so that you don't get exhausted by running all out and having to walk in the end of your run.  (I'll try to remember to come and put a link in later, but last time I went off to find a link for something, I got back to find blogger had eaten my post.)

My Garmin watch was playing up last night, & wouldn't connect to my phone, so my phone app was showing me as having no heartbeat! Having spent some time after the dog walk sorting it, I think they had both wanted an update, but the phone app hadn't asked permission for one, & the watch updates most easily by connecting it to one's computer. Which Younger Son had been using last night...

Ooh, I forgot to show you! My sweetpea seeds are starting to come up!

Nothing from 'Mollie Rilestone' yet, but that was the one I wasn't expecting much from.  Inspired by this, I tidied up the plant pot outside the front door.
Yes, it does live in front of the wheelie bins. They used to live in the back garden, in the time before covid 19. And now they are temporarily located next to the front door. I took out the nicotiana plants from mum (annuals, so would die off with the frosts) and the tender fuchsia that was mislabelled as hardy, and cut back the lavender, dianthus and heuchera.  Added more compost and bulbs, plants and seeds...
bulbs from Morrisons, viola & wallflowers from the farm shop & calendula from the seed stash.
